Dad's Career

Here's a page about my father's career with Saudi Arabian Airlines. While cleaning out my parents house I found a couple of his business cards and his luggage tag from his flight crew bag. I wanted to scrap them immediately.

This also fits the History challenge in the Mini Crop at Turtle Soup. Please stop by and check out all the fun challenges we have going on there. The theme this month is back to school so there are some really fun and different challenges this month.

Princess in Training

Here's another layout that I did for the Robin's Nest. Our  theme for this month is Girly Girls. This photo I used was perfect for the Princess papers and I couldn't have come up with a better title.

Pink Glitter Journaling Tags

Other Supplies:
Washi Tape
Pearls
Tulle
Foil Cardstock
Accents

To start I layered the photo on some pink, brown and foil cardstock and placed it in the middle of the back of the Girl Swirl Glittered Cardstock. I then cut out the title from the Glitter Word Titles and inked the edges and popped it up for some dimension at the bottom of the photo.

I then cut out two strips from the Princess Cardstock, inked them and placed them above and below the photo and then added some pink chevron washi tape along the top and bottom of the page. I also added a large pink photo corner to two of the pages corners and added some Dew Drops  to them.

I used one of the Baby Girl Tags as my journaling tag and sprinkled some more Dew Drops above it.

I took the Girl Crown Glittered Cardstock and cut several of the crowns out with a circle punch. One I layered on the back of one of the Doillie Die Cuts and popped it up for dimension.

The other crowns were layered on some tulle and placed down the left side of the page and I then wound a string of pearls around them. The tulle was from my stepdaughters baby shower for this daughter in the photo. I'll have to add that bit of info as some hidden journaling.

For the last bit I fussy cut one of the Pink Glitter Journaling Tags and added it above the photo.

And there you have it! Another girly layout of my stepdaughter and granddaughter.

Anniversary Card

Here's an Anniversary Card I made for my husband. I can't believe it's been 10 years already!

This fits a couple of different challenges.
The first is for Cards In Envy who's challenge is to make a square card. I don't usually make square cards but thought I'd give it a try for a change.
The second is for a card sketch at Turtle Soup. Here's the sketch we had to use.

I had fun with this card and even got to get a little messy with some gesso and texture paste.

Home Decor Projects

I've got an All Sorts Challenge up at Turtle Soup today. I've challenged everyone to use flowers on whatever type of project they want to do. I decided to do a couple of home decor projects.

This is my bulletin board for my scraproom. I got it for a steal at Hobby Lobby but it needed some color so I decided to add some flowers and washi tape to it. All the flowers were cut with my Cricut and then stamped. The leaves were cut using my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders dies. Then I just added the washi tape along with some Dew Drops to add a little bling.

This is a jar for my Splenda. I wanted to keep it out on my kitchen counter and it was kinda plain looking so I decided to add some vinyl flowers and the word Splenda that I cut with my Cricut.

I'm so happy with how these both turned out and very glad to get them done. They've been sitting on my desk for several weeks while I've been deciding what I wanted to do with them. Now I've got more room to spread out and scrap! Always a good thing!

Captured

Today I've got a mostly pink layout to go with our Girly Girl theme this month at The Robin's Nest Blog. This is my darling granddaughter who was so happy to have her face painted like Hello Kitty.

Pink Glitter Journaling Cards

Other Supplies
Gelatos
Bazzill Cardstock
Cricut
Pretty Princess Glitter
Brushable Glue

To start I diecut the arcs on white cardstock with my Cricut and then backed them with Pink Zebra Glitter Cardstock and both sides of the Rosy Diamond Cardstock. I also scribbled some pink gelato and then went over it with a paint brush dipped in water to give it a watercolor look.

I then fussycut the Pink Glitter Journaling Card, cut it in half and placed it so it would stick out of each side of the photo and pink cardstock mats.

I cut the title Captured from the Glitter Word Titles and inked the edges with black to make it stand out better. Mounted it on some pink cardstock and popped it up to give the page more dimension.

I then arranged some of the Rosy Straw in a wavy pattern across the bottom of the page and anchored it with some Dew Drops.

For the final touch I took one of the Flourished Frames Evie and cut it in half and used one piece to "crown" the photo. I brushed it with glue, sprinkled it with some Pretty Princess Glitter and added a heart shaped Dew Drop to the center. I also sprinkled several more Dew Drops around the page for a little more bling.

Buttons Everywhere!

I've got an inspiration challenge up at Turtle Soup. I was rearranging my scrap room and ran across my stash of buttons and thought I'd better start using them. So here's the photo I used for my inspiration.

Here's my layout

This didn't put much of a dent in my button collection but at least it's a start!

Please stop by Turtle Soup to play along with some of the challenges we have going on!

Hope to see you there!

Christmas Cards

Getting an early start on my Christmas cards! If it wasn't for a Christmas card challenge I wouldn't have even thought to make any.

I bought this stamp after Christmas last year and really wanted to play with it. On the second card I added some shimmer spray to make it sparkle and I really like the effect though you can't really tell by the photo.
