Sunset

Today we are revealing a new sketch over at My Scraps & More Sketches. We had a wonderful sketch from our own Tammi Bennett to work with.

I've had these photos for a while and I immediately thought of them when I saw this sketch. All the paper and elements for this layout were just pulled from my stash of old stuff. Nothing came from the same collection and I found the turquoise papers on the bottom left and the canvas stitched tag in the jewelry departments. I love finding things to use from other departments of the big box stores.

So if you like sketches please join us at My Scraps & More Sketches. We have a new sketch up every Friday and would love to see your creations! And there's also a drawing every month for a fabulous prize package!

Valentine Cuties

I really had fun with this layout. Got to get messy with some mist splatters and inking a doily. I also decided to try making some dimensional banners which came out nicely.

I used the sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap's Inspired By Challenge. I loved the sketch as soon as I saw it and while creating this layout I realized I haven't used flowers on a layout in ages. And again, I was able to combine this with a couple of other challenges. One from My Scraps & More Love is in the Air Crop challenge #3 and one from Turtle Soup's Mini Crop. Come join in the fun with us as both crops are going on through Sunday, February 23.

Family

I have had this Winterland collection from Fancy Pants for several years now. I won it from somewhere but never was that crazy about it. Then I saw a challenge at My Scraps & More where you had to use an old collection and at least 3 stickers from the collection on your layout. This collection was perfect and now that I've played with it I'm starting to really like the non traditional colors.

This also fit a challenge at Turtle Soup's Mini Crop going on through Sunday, February 23. Come join us for some fun challenges and a prize drawing.

Glow

It's no secret to anyone who knows me that I love the beach. It cheers me up if I'm feeling down, it calms me if I'm stressed and makes me feel like a kid again. I've always lived near the beach and I can't imagine not living near a beach. So when asked to do a layout about something you love and it couldn't be people or pets I immediately thought of the beach. This photo was taken at sunset on Topsail Beach, NC. Sunset at the beach is my favorite time of day!

For this layout I used sketch #51 from Sketch~N~Scrap which was a beautiful sketch to work with. This layout also fit one of the Mini Crop Challenges at Turtle Soup as well as challenge #9 at the Love is in the Air Crop over at My Scraps & More.

Birthday Card

Didn't have much time to scrap today but I did get a card made for a friends daughter. This was a quick and easy card. I first embossed a piece of pink cardstock with a Happy Birthday embossing folder. Then punched a bunch of circles, layered them over each other and added a coordinating chipboard sticker and sprinkled a few hearts. I really like how it turned out.

This card is for the Cards In Envy challenge which is to use Red, Pink and/or White. It also fits the My Scraps & More Love is in the Air Mini Crop  challenge #5 and the Turtle Soup 2/7 Friday Inspiration Challenge. I just love being able to combine challenges!

Another Valentine Card

This was a quick and easy card that I made at the last minute for my husband. He said not to bother with a card with all that is going on in our lives right now but I just had to. After all, I knew he had bought me a gift and chocolates.

I'll be entering this in the Cards in Envy Love is in the Air Challenge. I also want to give credit to the artist. I found this at A Creative Inkling and fell in love with it!

Halloween in February?

Yesterday was my first Design Team sketch reveal at My Scraps & More Sketch Blog. I was so excited  and nervous! It took me forever to decide what photo I wanted to scrap but once I finally decided the whole layout came together rather quickly. I love this photo of my granddaughter and just hadn't gotten around to scrapping it. I'm so glad I waited, it is perfect for this amazing sketch.

The patterned paper is Graphic 45 along with the fussy cut clock and postage stamp. I used my Prima crackle stencil for the 1st time and mixed some gelatos with modeling paste. I love this stencil! This was such a great sketch by Wendi Robinson! If you like sketches come join us at My Scraps & More Sketches. A new sketch is revealed every Friday and if you play along you'll be entered in the monthly prize drawing. This months prize is the MME Chalk Studio 2 Collection Pack.

Valentine Cards

Here are a couple of Valentine Cards for my two granddaughters. I had such a hard time coming up with these. I'll be so glad when they get a bit older! At least I think it'll be easier to come up with Valentine Cards for older kids.

For my oldest, Cadence, who is 6, I added a little knock knock joke inside. I know she'll drive her Dad crazy with it! lol

And for my youngest, Brylie, who is 3.

I am also entering these in the Cards in Envy, Love is in the Air Challenge.

Harvest Days

Fall is my favorite time of year but since I moved to Florida I don't get to experience it anymore. At least I can still scrap fall photos of my granddaughters. I just love this photo of the girls and how the oldest, Cadence, decided to lay down on the bales of hay.

I did this layout for a round robin we have going on at Turtle Soup and it also fit a Mix it Up Monday challenge at My Scraps & More

3rd Birthday

We had a Design Team Sketch Reveal over at Turtle Soup the other day. The sketch we used was done by our very own Design Team leader, Bev. She comes up with some amazing sketches! Here's the one we worked with this week.

And here's my take on the sketch:

If you like sketches, come join us over at Turtle Soup. We have new challenges everyday and a Mini Crop every month. It's a lot of fun! Hope to see you there!
